Manchester United wingback Tyrella Malacia is reportedly all set to finalising a return to the Netherlands through the gates of PSV Eindhoven.
The 25-year-old rose through the ranks of Feyenoord before sealing a transfer to Old Trafford in the summer of 2022 under the orders of his compatriot Erik ten Hag. However, the left-back had an underwhelming first season in the Premier League, while his second campaign was completely wrecked by a devastating knee injury.
Malacia made his return to action in recent months, but he’s been far from his optimal physical shape. Hence, Ruben Amorim preferred to convert Diogo Dalot to the left flank rather than fielding the Dutchman. And with Patrick Dorgu sealing a transfer to Carrington, and Luke Shaw making his way back from an injury, the writing was on the wall for the former Feyenoord man.
The Netherlands international was expected to join Benfica on Saturday but the deal collapsed as the two clubs failed to reach a definitive agreement. Nevertheless, the Red Devils kept working on finding an alternative track, and PSV emerged as the ideal solution.

According to Voetbal International, the Netherlands international is on his way to joining the reigning Dutch champions on a six-month loan deal.
This will be an interesting move given that Malacia is an academy product of PSV’s old rivals Feyenoord. He will join as a direct replacement for Matteo Dams who sealed a transfer to the Saudi Pro League.
For their part, Man Utd will be hoping that the player showcases his potential and regains his optimal physical shape during his brief spell in Eindhoven. A Positive run could regain him a place at Carrington or perhaps help the club generate decent revenue from a summer sale.
