Manchester United are in the market for a dynamic right-back who can seamlessly integrate into their attacking playing style.

According to Sky Sport Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Man United have lowered their demands to £10 million to sanction Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s exit.

United are eyeing a move for Bayern Munich defender Noussair Mazraoui, who could be signed in a deal for around £12m-£16m.

Mazraoui is also ‘keen’ to play in the Premier League. West Ham United have also been linked with him.

The Hammers could push to sign Wan-Bissaka if they fail in their pursuit of the Bayern right-back.

United could sell Wan-Bissaka and sign Mazraoui

The Morocco international featured 29 times for the Bundesliga giants last season.

He is predominantly a right-back but showed his adaptability on the left flank.

Mazraoui put a bright shift against Arsenal in the Champions League quarter-final. He kept Bukayo Saka quiet and made some decent forward runs.

Wan-Bissaka has entered the final year of his contract and is surplus to requirements. The Red Devils have a final chance to raise funds by selling him this summer.

The former Crystal Palace man has been a fine servant to United.

He is one of the best when it comes to defending, but the modern era of football demands that full-backs also showcase their attacking prowess,

This shift in expectations underscores United’s pursuit of a more offensively-minded right-back.

Mazraoui and Erik ten Hag previously worked together at Ajax. He made 137 appearances under the Dutchman, netting ten goals and providing nine assists.

Mazraoui would be an upgrade over Wan-Bissaka, but the Red Devils must be wary of his injury record.

He missed 19 games in the 2023/24 campaign due to muscle-related injuries. He has missed more than ten games in each of the previous five seasons.

The club understandably want to sign an attack-minded full-back, but they should be cautious about taking a gamble on a player with a history of frequent injuries.
