Man United tipped to launch surprise swoop for Real Madrid star | OneFootball

A leading member of the attacking ranks at Real Madrid has been identified as a summer transfer target on the part of Premier League giants Manchester United.

That’s according to Relevo, who have today provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Spain’s capital.

The player to have made his way into the sights of United, it is understood, is Joselu.

Frontman Joselu is of course currently in the midst of a loan stint in Madrid, from 2nd tier Espanyol.

With his exploits, to date, having proven of an altogether impressive nature – the frontman has racked up 14 goals across all competitions – though, widespread reports have pointed towards the brass at the Santiago Bernabéu preparing to make Joselu’s signing a permanent one.

In turn, it may come as something of a concern for Real to hear that, this week, another of the continent’s most high-profile clubs have positioned themselves in the race for his services.

As per the aforementioned Relevo, during a recent trip to Spain, representatives from Manchester United explored the conditions likely to be required to strike a deal.

The Red Devils are on the lookout for an experienced centre-forward to act as backup to Rasmus Højlund at Old Trafford, and view Joselu as boasting all of the necessary traits.

Those of a Real Madrid persuasion desperate to see the Spanish international stay put with Carlo Ancelotti’s squad for next season, though, need not fret.

This comes amid the conclusion that, despite interest in his signature from elsewhere, ‘Joselu’s priority is Real Madrid’.

The widespread expectation therefore remains that, come the close of the summer, the 34-year-old will indeed remain a Blancos player.
