This summer, Inter will have some work to do in terms of strengthening the squad.

Reports indicate that both the defense and the attack are areas where the Nerazzurri want to make a major signing.

Up front, the main targets look to be Genoa’s Albert Gudmundsson and Antwerp’s George Ilenikhena.

These players will not come cheap. Therefore, Inter will need to find the cash to sign them from somewhere.

And the Gazzetta report that the Nerazzurri will not sell any of the biggest names in their squad.

Rather, the club will aim to bring in a good amount of money from a few smaller sales.

Inter Could Cash In On Dumfries, Carboni & Arnautovic

Perhaps the prime candidate for a sale is wingback Dumfries.

The Dutchman is out of contract at the end of next June. Therefore, Inter’s stance has always been that they want to either extend his contract, or sell him this summer.

There have been contract talks with the 28-year-old’s representatives.

But these have so far led nowhere.

Manchester United remain admirers of Dumfries. And so particularly if Erik ten Hag stays at the club, the Red Devils would be ready to make a move for the former PSV man.

Inter would expect a fee of €25-30 million for Dumfries.

Then there is attacking midfielder Carboni.

Inter have rejected offers for the Argentine teenager, currently on loan, during the January transfer window.

But Carboni does not feature in the Nerazzurri’s plans for the future at the moment. The 19-year-old’s profile is an awkward fit for Simone Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 system.

Therefore, Inter would likely listen to offers for Carboni this summer, reports the Gazzetta.

A bid of €30 million would likely be enough to convince Inter to sell Carboni.

Then, there is veteran striker Arnautovic. The Austrian former West Ham United and Stoke City striker joined Inter from Bologna last summer.

The Gazzetta characterize Arnautovic’s first season at the Nerazzurri as a “flop.”

Therefore, Inter would likely be willing to sell the 35-year-old after one season for a few million euros.
