Manchester United have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Napoli forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
A recent report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that United are “serious” about securing Kvaratskhelia’s services amid his ongoing contractual conflict with Napoli.
It was claimed that Napoli have offered the Georgian winger an annual salary of €6 million, bonuses included. United on the other hand are thought to be prepared to hand him a deal worth €8m net per season, including €1m in easily achievable bonuses.
Kvaratskhelia currently earns €1.8m per year and is demanding significantly more than Napoli are prepared to part with.
United’s offer is believed to be attractive enough to lure the skilled winger to Old Trafford.
Italian journalist Ciro Venerato has given an update on Kvaratskhelia’s situation and his transfer links to United. According to Venerato, the 23-year-old is currently embroiled in a “cold war” with his employers.
Venerato appeared as a guest on Televomero’s Terzo Tempo Calcio Napoli and said [as quoted by Tutto Napoli], “Napoli won’t go over €6m per year compared to the €1.8m he gets now.”
“The player, who was hurt by the no to PSG, who would have guaranteed €13m a year according to the agent, wants to be partly compensated with a figure closer to €10m and away from €6m.”
“I think a renewal is sought for a farewell next year with a clause. The agent prefers it at €80m, while Napoli would like it close to €120m.”
“Kvara has been proposed to Barça, Manchester United, Real Madrid, PSG again. But there are no negotiations in progress.”
Venerato added, “There is disappointment on the part of De Laurentiis, this very cold ‘no’ he did not digest. So much so that since then there has been no raise either on the salary or the clause.”
Napoli are notorious for playing hardball with clubs interested in their players, so United are unlikely to find it easy to land Kvaratskhelia despite the ongoing uncertainty over his future in Italy.
Kvaratskhelia has made 13 top-flight appearances this season, registering five goals and two assists in that period.
