Former Manchester United and England star Rio Ferdinand has this weekend moved to lavish some altogether lofty praise on Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal.
This comes amid the suggestion that the winger, when all is said and done, could well have established himself as the standout player to ever lace up a pair of boots.
Youngster Lamine, for his part, is fresh off adding to his silverware cabinet once more on Friday evening.
Afforded an invitation to the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, the Spanish international went on to scoop the prize for best ‘Emerging Talent’ in the game.
And one individual evidently of the opinion that such a title has been well-earned comes in the form of the aforementioned Rio Ferdinand.
Speaking to the media whilst in attendance at the ceremony, Man United legend Ferdinand was drawn on the talents boasted by Barcelona’s winger prodigy.
And the Englishman made use of the opportunity to pay Lamine the ultimate compliment:
“I don’t wanna say Lamine Yamal will become the best player of all time, but I think he can.
“Name any player, no one has ever done what Lamine Yamal is doing.”
