Manchester United have finally added a new attacker to their ranks, announcing the signing of Joshua Zirkzee from Serie A outfit Bologna.

In some ways, Jadon Sancho is another fresh addition to Erik ten Hag’s attack this summer. At one point last season, it seemed there was no way back for Sancho at Carrington as long as Ten Hag was at the helm.

After refusing to apologise to the United gaffer for his public outburst, Sancho found himself back at Borussia Dortmund in January. However, now he has been re-integrated into the United squad after both reportedly agreed to draw a line.

Regardless, this has not put an end to speculation concerning his future at the club, with reports suggesting United are considering a move that will pave the way for Sancho’s exit in exchange for another player.

Federico Chiesa, the star of the Euros 2020, is no longer viewed as an important player in Turin and according to reports, he is not central to new Juventus manager Thiago Motta’s plans.

The 26-year-old has entered the final year of his contract with Juventus, intensifying questions about his future at the club. The situation has also led to the Old Lady being linked with a number of wingers, including Sancho and another United star, Mason Greenwood.

This led to suggestions that the Turin side would offer Chiesa in part exchange.

The Italian newspaper has continued down this line today, stating that United are ‘thinking about the possibility’ of the proposed swap deal involving the England international and the Italian winger.

It is claimed Chiesa is valued at around €25 million by the Serie A giants, so if there were to be an exchange, cash would no doubt be required as part of the deal as well.

Sancho has the potential to really shine under Motta in a league that demands less intensity and pace when compared to the Premier League.

He has been a regular fixture on Juventus’ radar. In fact, it has been reported that the club’s sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli already has Sancho’s “yes”. The versatile forward was allegedly one step away from Turin in January.

However, Sancho ultimately returned to Dortmund, and upon the expiration of his loan stint, he is back at Carrington, training with United’s first-team, for now.
