Pep Guardiola’s side likely to miss two key players
Manchester City will likely miss both Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker for their Champions League clash with Sparta Prague on Wednesday.
Pep Guardiola confirmed the pair were major doubts when speaking after Man City’s late 2-1 win over Wolves on Sunday.
“I don't think they will be ready," Guardiola told Sky Sports.
"We have a few days training but I don't think so."
Nathan Ake, however, returned to the bench at Molineux and boosts Guardiola’s options in defence.
Rodri and Oscar Bobb are long-term absentees as City look for their second win of the new-look League phase, having made light work of Slovan Bratislava in a 4-0 victory last time out.
The City boss could bring in the likes of Stefan Ortega and Matheus Nunes in an effort to rotate the squad.
Man City predicted XI: Ortega, Lewis, Akanji, Dias, Gvardiol; Nunes, Gundogan, Silva; Foden, Haaland, Grealish
Doubts: De Bruyne, Walker
Injured: Bobb, Rodri
Time and date: 8pm BST on Wednesday 23 October 2024
