A 2-0 win at Everton last time out saw City record back-to-back Premier League wins for the first time since January, but it was a taxing effort at Goodison Park as late goals from defender Nico O’Reilly and midfielder Mateo Kovacic secured three valuable points.

Those two should keep their place, with Kovacic set to make his 200th Premier League appearance, but Savinho and Bernardo Silva will be sweating over their starting spots as Phil Foden and Jeremy Doku push to return to the line-up.

Doku has been restricted to substitute appearances in the last three games against Manchester United, Crystal Palace and Everton, which Guardiola explained to reporters ahead of the game.

"I've been so unfair with him in the last games," Guardiola said. "But the only reason that he doesn't play lately is because we didn't attack in the last games with wingers. We had full-backs wide and more players in the middle.

"I feel sorry for him in the other games. But his impact at Everton was better, he had a threat and got to the byline. Jeremy in the final third is unstoppable. I'm really pleased that he played really good (at Everton)."

Omar Marmoush should keep his spot, but Kevin De Bruyne may also be looking over his shoulder.

Further back. Stefan Ortega is expected to start again after Ederson again missed out over the weekend due to injury. Manuel Akanji made his return from injury with a late cameo off the bench, but is unlikely to be handed a start three days later.

Abdukodir Khusanov appears to have lost his starting spot despite an eye-catching start to life at City.
