Manchester City have confirmed the signing of Norwegian midfielder Sverre Nypan in a deal reported to be worth £12.5 million.
The 18-year-old has penned a five-year contract with the Premier League champions, tying him to the club until 2030.
He’s City’s fifth addition of the summer, joining Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Rayan Cherki, and Marcus Bettinelli - with the club’s spending now topping £120 million in this transfer window.
The club intends to loan him out for the season, but if a move doesn’t materialise by the time the squad returns from their post-Club World Cup break, he’ll stay and train with Pep Guardiola and the senior team.
Nypan made his breakthrough at Rosenborg aged just 15, and has since made 70 first-team appearances, notching 14 goals and 11 assists.
