Manchester City haven’t given up on their quest to sign Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso.

Calciomercato, the Premier League champions are plotting a mouth-watering €62 million (£51.2m) bid for the full-back.

City were linked with a move for Cambiaso in January, but a move never materialised. They’re now expected to return with an audacious bid in the summer.

Pep Guardiola is determined to rebuild his squad to keep City at the pinnacle of English and European football.

City lost Kyle Walker to AC Milan during the January transfer window, pocketing £5m from the move, but it left them short-handed in defence as they didn’t sign a replacement.

That position has now been earmarked as a priority for the summer, and Cambiaso is seen as the ideal fit for Guardiola’s side.

The 25-year-old is naturally left-footed, which means he’s more suited to play on the left side of defence, but he has proven to be a versatile asset for Juventus this season.

The Italian is also comfortable playing with his right foot and has sometimes been deployed at right-back and right-midfield.

His versatility, defensive solidity, and attacking contributions make him a natural fit for Guardiola’s system.

Cambiaso has featured 32 times across all competitions for Juventus this season, returning two goals and two assists.

He has won 54% of his ground duels this season but hasn’t replicated those numbers in the air, winning just 40% of his aerial battles.

However, he averages 1.6 tackles per game and 3.4 balls recovered per 90 minutes, while his passing ability is also a key asset in his game.

Aside from Cambiaso, Newcastle United’s Tino Livramento is also on City’s radar after an impressive season that earned him an England call-up.

Guardiola naturally operates with a tight-knit squad, making sure all his players are involved in some capacity.

However, the Cityzens have been stretched thin this season, and injuries haven’t helped their cause.

City kicked off their squad rebuild in January, signing Nico Gonzalez, Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov, and Vitor Reis.
