A headline member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has on Wednesday been linked with a move to the Premier League.

This comes owing to Manchester City’s sudden emergence back onto the market.

The Sky Blues have agreed to part with a leading figure in their own frontline this summer, Julián Álvarez all set to take his talents to Atlético Madrid.

Pep Guardiola and co, as a result, have been left with little choice but to seek out a replacement for the Argentine.

And, amongst a three-man shortlist drawn up by The Etihad brass, one player is currently plying his trade with Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid.

As per Marca, joining Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Eberechi Eze on Man City’s radar is none other than Rodrygo.

Citizens boss Guardiola has long been named as a keen admirer of Rodrygo’s talents, culminating in links between the parties on a number of occasions in the past.

Marca, in turn, conclude that though any operation would be dependent on the will of the player himself:

‘With the arrival of Mbappé and the lack of space in Ancelotti’s forward line, City see a gap through which they can attack.’
