Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak says the club are in a waiting game to find out the outcome of being charged by the Premier League.
City have been charged with alleged breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules, which were tried by an independent panel earlier this season.
They have denied any wrongdoing and City’s chairman says he will only be able to speak about the charges once a ruling is reached.
“Well, I suppose the only thing I can say is we still don’t have a ruling,” he told the club in an interview.
“Once there’s a ruling, I’ll be able to speak about it. Until then we just have to be patient, and it’ll come, and we will talk about it, I promise you, once we have the ruling.”
City’s chairman has also spoke of the club’s desire to add to manager Pep Guardiola’s squad before the start of their Club World Cup campaign.
Guardiola’s side will travel to the USA in June to take part in the revamped tournament, with their first game on 18 June against Wydad AC.
And Al Mubarak says they are taking the tournament very seriously.
“As the defending champions coming into this new format, of course we’re very excited,” he said.
“We’re very excited to come in as champions. The format, actually, I really like it. This is a very, very serious competition.
“In the summer, the whole world will be watching this. A big number of the top teams in the world will be competing in this tournament and I can assure you, we’re going to give it our best shot.
“We’re going there to win it. This is the beginning of the new season, not the continuation of last season. The team will take the rest that they will take right now, then they start pre-season and then immediately straight into the Club World Cup.”
