Arsenal scraped three points away from home in a blockbuster 4-3 victory over Manchester City in the Women's Super League (WSL).
It was the perfect start for the Gunners, as Mariona Caldentey picked the pocket of Laia Aleixandri to open the scoring after just 42 seconds. Lotte Wubben-Moy was fast to double the visitor's advantage, heading home a pin-point delivery from Kyra Cooney-Cross.
Mary Fowler managed to open the door for City in the 20th minute, nodding in a brilliant far-post delivery from Aoba Fujino. Former Gunner Vivianne Miedema rubbed salt in the wound, hammering home a goal from close range to bring terms level at 2-2.
Arsenal gained the advantage back in just 60 seconds, as Frida Maanum slotted home a precise strike from inside the area. End-to-end drama saw City back in the contest, as the home side were awarded a heavily controversial penalty for a foul on Fujino by Steph Catley. Fowler bagged her brace from the penalty spot to make it 3-3.
The cinema didn't stop there, as Beth Mead located Stina Blackstenius on the goal-line, who hammered home the winner in the 79th minute of play.
The loss sees Man City fall to fourth place in the WSL standings, whilst Arsenal jump back into second place.
