Turkey’s transfer window closing later than the rest of Europe led to increased speculation over the past fortnight regarding two outcast Manchester United players.

First up was Antony, whose Old Trafford exit wouldn’t come as a surprise to any fan, given how he’s fared since making the move from Ajax in 2022. The winger now finds himself behind younger counterparts Amad Diallo and Alejandro Garnacho in the pecking order, despite the club forking out an eye-watering £86 million for his services as a starter.

Nonetheless, reports also claimed that Casemiro was to be shipped out of United immediately after his horror show in the first half vs Liverpool saw him come under fire for being at fault for Luis Diaz’s quickfire brace.

Erik ten Hag seemingly agreed that the Brazilian was out of his element, too, as he decided to replace Casemiro with 20-year-old Toby Collyer during the break.

Galatasaray were said to be interested in taking the veteran on loan for the 2024/2025 campaign, with United aiming to see a large portion of his £350,000-a-week wages covered by the Super Lig outfit.

Per Football Insider, the 32-year-old had initially given his green light to the proposed deal – which was also signed off on by INEOS – before U-turning on his decision on yesterday’s deadline day.

As such, he will remain at Ten Hag’s disposal for the forthcoming term, after which the club will presumably look to facilitate his exit next summer.
