Malick Yalcouye set for another loan move?
Malick Yalcouye could be heading for a fresh start. According to our sources, two German clubs are showing serious interest in the young Ivorian midfielder and are looking to secure him on loan for the upcoming season.
After moving from IFK Göteborg to Brighton in the summer of 2024, Malick Yalcouye became the most expensive sale in the Swedish club's history. But his Premier League adventure has yet to take off: without a single minute played, the 19-year-old was immediately loaned out to Sturm Graz in Austria. That loan spell appears to have paid off. Solid and consistent with the Austrian side, Yalcouye has caught the attention of Freiburg, who are reportedly already in talks with his camp.
Bundesliga side Hoffenheim have also made contact with his representatives to discuss a possible loan deal. However, Brighton have yet to make a decision. The English club is weighing up whether to integrate Yalcouye into their squad this season or let him continue his development with another loan spell.
The player remains under contract with Brighton until 2029, but another loan could give him valuable playing time and allow him to continue his progression at the highest level of European football.
