FLW’s Luton Town fan pundit has backed the Hatters to sign Ali Al-Hamadi this summer.

Luton Town will be stepping up preparations as their League One season kicks off on Friday against AFC Wimbledon.
It’s been a hugely disappointing last couple of seasons for the Hatters, who suffered back-to-back relegations from the Premier League all the way down to the third-tier.
Luton will now be aiming to build a squad that can deliver automatic promotion back to the Championship in order for the club to rebuild, and one day, get themselves back in contention to return to the top-flight.
Right now, Luton must get over the hurdle of getting out of League One, with the likes of Huddersfield Town and Rotherham United failing to do so last term following their previous relegations from the Championship.
As expected with relegation, many players have both come and gone from Kenilworth Road this summer, with the club still searching for further additions before the 1st September deadline.
With this in mind, FLW’s Luton Town fan pundit has outlined one player he’d love to see the Hatters sign this summer.
Speaking to Football League World, Luton Town fan pundit Simon Mills believes the Hatters should do all they can to complete a swoop for Ipswich Town forward Ali Al-Hamadi, with TWTD reporting that the Hatters are holding an interest in securing his services.
There is a belief that Al-Hamadi could “dominate League One” if he makes the switch to Kenilworth Road.
Simon said: “The signing I would most like to see Luton Town make between now and the end of the window would be Al-Hamadi from Ipswich.
“I think he would suit us down to the ground. I think he would dominate League One, and with the players that would be surrounded him at Luton, they would only gear him up for success, and obviously we would look to hopefully take that into the Championship next season off the back of a good one this year.
“Al-Hamadi from Ipswich is definitely the man I would identify to pay what Ipswich want and bring him into the club.”
While Luton Town have recruited the experienced Nahki Wells, who should do very well on the goal front in League One, the Hatters need a younger forward who can cope with the demands of a 46-game season better than what the Bermudian can, in order to fully replace the exit of Carlton Morris.
The step-up in class from League Two to the Championship has seemingly been too much for the 23-year-old Al-Hamadi, who has only scored six goals in the second-tier, so finding the middle ground in League One could be exactly what is needed to bring the best out of him and get the goals flowing.
Al-Hamadi is also likely to do well in a team dominating matches and winning games more often than not, receiving plenty of opportunities to score in the process.
The striker definitely has the presence to be a focal point and be a physical force in League One, and this type of signing is exactly what Luton need to be well-equipped enough to take on the upcoming challenge they face.
The arrival of Al-Hamadi could be a changing point to Luton’s season, and if a deal can get over the line, it will surely give them the best possible chance of achieving promotion under Matt Bloomfield.
