Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin has rejected multiple offers to leave the club this summer.
Marca reports that the Ukrainian international has decided to continue in Madrid even though he is expected to be Thibaut Courtois’ deputy.
Lunin is eager to work with new manager Xabi Alonso and is prepared to step up if an opportunity arises.
Galatasaray and his former club Oviedo have shown interest, but he wants a move to a top European club if he leaves Madrid.
The 26-year-old has been with Madrid since 2018 but came into the spotlight after a stellar 2023/24 campaign.
Lunin rose to the occasion during Courtois’ injury absence, playing a pivotal role in the Champions League and La Liga title victories.
He received plaudits for his heroics against RB Leipzig and Manchester City.
Courtois won back his spot last season, forcing Lunin to revert to the bench. The Ukrainian made seven appearances in La Liga.
There haven’t been any offers, but Lunin may keep the door open for a potential exit this summer.
He is currently at the Club World Cup, where he has yet to make a single appearance.
Courtois is set to sign a contract extension until 2028 and has expressed his desire to retire at Madrid.
