Luke Shaw agrees new Manchester United deal | OneFootball

According to The Athletic, Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw has agreed a new four-year contract.

The 27-year-old has been at the club for almost nine years after completing a £27m switch from Southampton, which at the time made him one of the most expensive teenagers.

Since his arrival in 2014, Shaw has made 248 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring four goals and providing 28 assists from full-back.

United manager Erik ten Hag has deployed Shaw as a centre-back at times this season with the Englishmen operating superbly despite a relative lack of experience in the role.

The Athletic further claim Shaw’s growing maturity and presence around the squad appealed to the Dutch manager and as such, there was a sense of importance to tie down their man down to a new deal.

United travel to the North East this weekend to face Newcastle United before hosting Brentford at Old Trafford in midweek.
