Paris Saint-Germain heads to Anfield full of confidence after a dominant 4-1 win over Stade Rennais on Saturday at Roazhon Park. The match remained scoreless until the 27th minute when Bradley Barcola broke the deadlock to give PSG a 1-0 lead.
Gonçalo Ramos doubled PSG’s advantage early in the second half, scoring in the 50th minute. Rennes responded quickly, though, as a deflected corner found Lilian Brassier at the post, allowing him to tap it in and reduce the lead to 2-1.
Despite continued pressure from Rennes, Ousmane Dembele, who came on in the 64th minute, sealed the win with a brace in stoppage time against his former club. With the 4-1 victory in the bag, PSG now faces the challenge of overturning a 1-0 aggregate deficit against Liverpool.

Ahead of the final 90 minutes at Anfield, the Spanish boss noted the ultra-focused mentality that he wants the squad to have if they’re going to advance to the quarterfinals.
“From the first minute of the match and from the warm-up, our attitude will be very clear: We want to win this match and make the comeback,” Enrique said (h/t PSG Report). “We only have one option tomorrow: to go on the pitch to win. The whole team is motivated.”
It will be interesting to see if Liverpool can add to their 1-0 aggregate lead or whether PSG have a comeback in them and take advantage of their scoring chances.
