Rodrigo

Figura esencial en el mediocampo de Pep Guardiola, Rodrigo disfrutó de, quizás, su mejor temporada en el City en camino del triplete 2022/23.

Sus 56 partidos en todas las competiciones fueron la mayor cantidad de cualquier jugador del City durante una temporada histórica que completó de la mejor manera posible al anotar el único gol en la victoria por 1-0 en la final de la Liga de Campeones sobre el Inter.

El español lo ha retomado donde lo dejó esta temporada, anotando en la victoria por 3-5 en el amistoso contra el Yokohama F. Marinos.

Rodri se unió al Club en la campaña 2019/20, después de un año muy exitoso con el Atlético de Madrid.

En su ùnica temporada como colchonero, Rodrigo jugó 47 partidos y ayudó al club a ganar la Supercopa con una victoria por 4-2 sobre el Real Madrid.

Sergio Aguero

Aguero joined Manchester City from Atletico Madrid in 2011 with a fearsome goalscoring reputation.

The Argentine had found the net 101 times in 234 appearances after joining Atleti in 2006, winning the UEFA Europa League and Super Cup in 2010.

And after grabbing a brace for Roberto Mancini’s men on his debut against Swansea, he never looked back.

A record 260 goals and 14 trophies later, Aguero called time on his City career in 2021 – leaving the Etihad a legend.

Stefan Savic

Currently plying his trade at Atletico, Savic joined Manchester City as a 20-year-old from Partizan Belgrade.

He would feature 20 times in all competitions for Roberto Mancini’s men during his solitary full campaign at the Etihad Stadium, helping us to our first-ever Premier League title.

His last action as a City player was to help us claim the Community Shield in 2012 with a 3-2 win over Chelsea, before moving to Fiorentina.

After three years in Italy, Savic joined Atletico Madrid, where he has since gone on to make over 250 appearances, winning La Liga, the Europa League and the UEFA Super Cup in the process.

Martin Petrov

A dynamic winger, Petrov moved to Atletico Madrid in 2005 after establishing his reputation in an impressive four-year stint at VFL Wolfsburg.

The Bulgarian would claim the Intertoto Cup in his final season at the club but was ruled out for the majority of the campaign with an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury.

Brought to City in 2007 ahead of Sven Goran Eriksson’s solitary campaign in the dugout, Petrov was a central figure in a revitalised City side who just missed out on European football.

Across his three years at the Etihad Stadium, he would make 72 appearances, finding the net on 12 occasions.

Martin Demichelis

Demichelis reunited with his former Malaga boss Manuel Pellegrini in September 2013 to play an important role in a league and cup double in his debut season.

He would also help Argentina reach the World Cup final at the end of that campaign, before enjoying another two successful years at the Etihad Stadium.

A popular figure during his time at the Club, the Argentine would go on to make 106 appearances in sky blue, winning three major honours in the process before joining Espanyol in 2016.

He had joined City from Atletico, who he’d signed for just two months prior without having made an appearance.

Kiki Musampa

Another player to join City directly from Atletico, Musampa arrived in Manchester in January 2005 on loan until the end of the season after a two-and-a-half year spell in the Spanish capital.

That deal was extended across the following season after the winger had impressed during the Premier League run-in, grabbing a late winner against Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium en route to City finishing just outside the UEFA Cup qualification spots.

The Dutchman featured 45 times for the Club across his 18 months in Manchester, moving to Trabzonspor in August 2006.
