La Liga giants Real Madrid could be afforded a welcome boost on the personnel front for their upcoming Club World Cup meeting with Juventus.

This comes amid confirmation that Éder Militão is closing on an imminent return to competitive action.

Defender Militão has for his part of course been sidelined since back in early November of 2024.

This comes after the Brazilian, just over a year on from suffering a ruptured ACL in his left knee, was condemned to another lengthy spell out of action by way of the same injury in his right knee.

Despite the devastating nature of the setback, reports have long pointed towards Militão enjoying a solid recovery, ahead of schedule in his efforts to return to the grass.

And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media on Friday is anything to go by, then the former Porto could be at the disposal of new manager Xabi Alonso even sooner than expected.

As per a report from Blancos insider Sergio Quirante of DAZN:

‘It is possible, if everything continues to evolve well, that Militão could be included in a (CWC) round of 16 call-up.’
