Loïc Lapoussin set to be reunited with Felice Mazzu | OneFootball

Het Nieuwsblad are reporting that Madagascan international Loïc Lapoussin is set to join Sint Truiden and reunite with his former head coach Felice Mazzu. The head coach of the Caneries was in charge of Union St Gilloise when Lapoussin helped them return to the top flight and almost win the league title in their first season back. Antwerp had been interested in signing the winger, but it appears the chance to reunite with his former head coach has convinced Lapoussin to join Sint Truiden.

Lapoussin started the season with Union’s second team, as the club had decided he no longer had a future with the first team after a few off field issues. However, he forced his way back into the senior side and provided a boost before the winter break. However, the club are now willing to let him leave to join Sint Truiden after another off field incident. Mazzu will hope that he can keep Lapoussin focused on football, as on his day he is one of the best wide men in the game. The players main strength is his ability to contribute going forward and track back and do his defensive work.

Lapoussin should certainly help Sint Truiden in their bid to avoid the drop this season.
