Kick-off: 14:00 BST

Liverpool’s hard-fought 1-0 derby win over Everton in midweek steadied the ship following their Champions League exit to Paris Saint-Germain and the EFL cup final loss to Newcastle. With eight games remaining and a commanding lead in the Premier League title race, Arne Slot’s side now turn their focus to a potentially tricky away fixture against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Fulham, under Marco Silva, continues to be an unpredictable side. Despite being comfortably placed in mid-table, injuries and inconsistent results have disrupted any late-season momentum. However, in front of a home crowd and with nothing to lose, the Cottagers will be eager to test the Champions in waiting.

Fulham Availability

Fulham come into the match with a few key absentees. Reiss Nelson is out with a hamstring injury, Harry Wilson remains sidelined with a foot problem, and Kenny Tete is still recovering from a knee issue.

Their most recent outing was a 2-1 away defeat to Arsenal following a 0-3 loss at Crystal Palace, one which saw them crash out of the FA Cup at the quarter-final stage. Fulham’s last home game ended in a 2-0 victory as Tottenham were brushed aside in their London derby. After 30 games played, a more than respectable 45 points have been attained, as the west London outfit sit 9th in the English top tier.

Fulham are expected to line up in all 4-2-3-1 shape, with Rodrigo Muniz continuing to lead the line after a strong run of form in 2025. The physicality of Lukic and Berge in midfield will be crucial if Fulham hope to contain Liverpool’s high-tempo engine room.

Predicted Fulham Lineup (4-2-3-1):

• GK: Bernd Leno

• RB: Timothy Castagne

• RCB: Issa Diop

• LCB: Joachim Andersen

• LB: Antonee Robinson

• CM: Saša Lukić

• CM: Sander Berge

• RW: Alex Smith-Rowe

• AM: Andreas Pereira

• LW: Alex Iwobi

• CF: Rodrigo Muniz

Liverpool Availability

Liverpool remain without several key figures. Trent Alexander-Arnold is still sidelined with a thigh issue, while Alisson Becker is expected to miss out again following a head injury suffered on international duty. Caoimhín Kelleher will continue in goal. Joe Gomez and Conor Bradley are close to returns but are not expected to feature at Craven Cottage.

There is better news in midfield, with Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai both available and likely to start.

Arne Slot will likely persist with Diogo Jota through the middle, given Darwin Núñez’s ongoing struggles with finishing and fitness. Luis Díaz and Mohamed Salah will flank the Portuguese forward. Curtis Jones should now drop out at right-back with the recall of Jarell Quansah likely to deal with the aerial threat.

Predicted Liverpool Lineup (4-3-3):

• GK: Caoimhin Kelleher

• RB: Curtis Jones

• RCB: Ibrahima Konaté

• LCB: Virgil van Dijk (c)

• LB: Andy Robertson

• CM: Alexis Mac Allister

• ACM: Dominik Szoboszlai

• CM: Ryan Gravenberch

• RW: Mohamed Salah

• CF: Diogo Jota

• LW: Luis Díaz

How Will This Contest Play Out?

Liverpool will look to dominate the ball early and test Fulham’s defensive structure with overloads down both flanks. With Fulham lacking natural width and inversion likely from their flanks, Salah and Díaz could be pivotal in stretching the back line and creating openings for Jota.

Fulham will look to sit deep and spring forward through Pereira and Muniz, while Sande Berge will be tasked with breaking up Liverpool’s rhythm in midfield. The atmosphere at Craven Cottage could make things tense, but Liverpool’s quality and experience should give them the edge.

Player to Watch: Alexis Mac Allister

The Argentine midfielder has quietly become a crucial part of Slot’s side. His ability to control the tempo and pick passes between the lines could be the key to unlocking Fulham’s compact defensive shape.

Steven Smith’s Score Prediction:

Fulham 0 – 2 Liverpool
