Dominik Szoboszlai has had an encouraging start to the season under Arne Slot.

Since being given further licence to assist the forwards in a No.10 role, the Hungarian has been right in the thick of the action across all competitions.

His physicality and tenacity have been essential to keeping Liverpool's midfield ticking over as the Reds secured their 15th win of the season on Saturday against Aston Villa.

While competing with Curtis Jones for minutes this season, both players have made an impact when started or brought on later in the game as an impact substitution, and subsequently, the injury of Harvey Elliott has been felt less severely.

Szoboszlai's off-field interests

While Liverpool players put their heart and soul into their performances on the pitch, and whilst games are coming thick and fast every three days or so, the players also have a personal life away from the game.

Many have partners and children, such as Szoboszlai's engagement earlier this season, Curtis Jones' newborn who arrived a few weeks ago, and Darwin Nunez who announced his partner was pregnant just this past weekend.

And in addition to the remarkable wages the players receive for their work as footballers, many also have different vested business endeavours.

For example, Trent Alexander-Arnold runs The After Academy for footballers who don't quite make it and Diogo Jota famously has his own E-sports team that plays FC25.

Likewise, Szobozslai has his own Esports company in Hungary, which his national team manager is also heavily invested in.

DomiNation Esports Kft to enter liquidation

According to reports from Mfor.hu, a Hungarian news outlet, Szoboszlai's main interest outside of football is set to enter liquidation.

This is the process whereby the company is terminated without a legal successor, as part of a procedure to settle the company's outstanding debts from the available assets.

In this case it has been reported that NO debts are owed.

The Hungary captain founded DomiNation Esports in 2020, in an effort to spread a message to his country's people that with the right attitude and persistence, you can make anything happen.

However, it was on October 15 this year that the liquidation proceedings reportedly began, just a few days after the midfielder had announced a partnership agreement with energy drink company Red Bull.

DomiNation Esports Kft last year achieved lower sales revenues than previously. Instead of HUF 23.6 million (£5,000) in 2022, it had a turnover of HUF 18.2 million (£3,700) in 2023. But after its previous loss of HUF 706,000 (£1,400), it posted a profit of HUF 6.9 million (£14,000) in 2023.

Szoboszlai returns to his home country this week as part of the international break, where his team will play the Netherlands and Germany in the Nations League.
