Liverpool replacing Mo Salah with Chelsea flop is the WORST transfer story all year

Liverpool supposedly want to replace Mohamed Salah with a Chelsea flop. It’s the worst transfer story of the year!

Spanish outlet Fichajes has made an incredibly outlandish claim this week, suggesting Liverpool have lined up a 'Plan B' to replace Mohamed Salah. Salah, of course, is linked with an exit in 2025 with the end of his contract.

There's talk of the Egyptian having already agreed to a contract in Saudi Arabia. Admittedly, we'd want a much better source on that than Gabi Agbonlahor before we start getting worried.

Regardless, it's entirely feasible that Salah leaves next year and Liverpool would have to replace him. What's a whole lot less feasible is the idea that Liverpool would replace him with Mykhailo Mudryk.

It makes absolutely no sense that Liverpool would target him - he doesn't even play on the correct side of the pitch.

But Fichajes suggests the Reds would pay around £25m up front to get Mudryk, potentially rising to £41m. It still feels like an overpay.

Above all, Mudryk is not anywhere near the level Liverpool would need. We're not even sure he still has the kind of potential to make it work down the line, let alone anytime soon.

So all in all, we'd have this down as the worst transfer rumour of the entire year. If you see talk anywhere of Liverpool replacing Salah with Mudryk, you should probably just ignore it.

How do Liverpool replace Mo Salah?

This is the big question and one we're not sure can be answered. There is no replacing Mo Salah, really.

Liverpool do have Ben Doak coming up through the ranks and he certainly looks like a star. There's a long way to go before he's at the right level to replace one of the Reds' all-time top scorers, mind.

We don't believe Liverpool will even try to replace him - not really. Instead, the entire forward line will need a rethink if Salah decides to move away next year.

It would be the biggest shakeup in a long, long time. Let's see if it's necessary.
