Liverpool’s aggressive start to the transfer window is taking further shape with a deal for Milos Kerkez now within reach. As TEAMtalk reports, the 21-year-old Bournemouth full-back has given a resounding ‘yes’ to a move to Anfield, adding momentum to a summer of strategic squad-building under Arne Slot.
The expected arrival of Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen is just the beginning. With £109 million already tabled for the German playmaker, the Reds are now turning to strengthen the opposite end of the pitch.
TEAMtalk reveals, “Kerkez has given a resounding ‘yes’ to a move to Anfield, driven by his ambition to compete at the highest level and cement his place among Europe’s elite.” It’s a declaration that reflects both the pull of Liverpool and the player’s determination to reach the top tier of European football.

Kerkez impressed many in his debut Premier League campaign, combining pace, intelligent dribbling, and five assists from the left flank, and now appears ready to take a leap forward. At £45 million, Liverpool are investing in potential, with Andy Robertson’s contract running until 2026, providing the perfect window for a gradual transition.
Liverpool’s new sporting director Richard Hughes, who previously signed Kerkez for Bournemouth in 2023, is believed to be central to the negotiations. That familiarity could prove decisive, especially with Bournemouth reportedly preparing a move for Marseille’s Quentin Merlin as a replacement.
Kerkez’s fit within Slot’s philosophy is clear. He’s dynamic, aggressive, and comfortable operating in advanced areas, all qualities the new head coach is expected to prioritise as Liverpool transition to a more tactically fluid approach.
Once confirmed, Kerkez will become Liverpool’s third major signing of the window, following Frimpong’s £30m arrival and the near-finalised deal for Wirtz. The combined spend of close to £200 million is indicative of a club moving quickly, efficiently, and with a clear direction.

TEAMtalk’s report adds weight to this sense of purpose, noting that despite interest from Real Madrid and Manchester City, “Kerkez’s heart appears set on Liverpool, where he believes he can thrive under Slot’s tactical setup.” That Slot has already had such an impact on player decisions bodes well for a summer of cohesion rather than chaos.
For Liverpool, this feels like more than just a transfer, it’s a statement about the club’s future. Milos Kerkez isn’t coming in to be a squad filler. He’s being signed as the next big name to take over one of the most physically demanding roles in world football.
Andy Robertson remains a key figure, but he’s turning 31 next season. We’ve needed succession planning in that area for some time, and Kerkez, at 21, with Premier League experience and a high ceiling , looks a smart, forward-thinking acquisition.
What’s exciting is that this deal fits a clear pattern. The club isn’t just buying names, they’re building a system. Wirtz for creativity, Frimpong for width, and now Kerkez to power the left. These players offer legs, skill, and adaptability. And most importantly, they’re all hungry. That hunger is what built Klopp’s Liverpool, and it looks like Slot intends to carry that same spirit forward.
There’s a long way to go before the window closes, but with these moves, Liverpool fans can start to believe in the project ahead. This isn’t just about defending the Premier League title, it’s about building a team ready to take Europe by storm again.
