Liverpool are reportedly keen on the French winger Ryan Cherki.

The France under-21 international has been linked with the move away from Lyon in the past and a report from L’Equipe claims that Liverpool have enquired about the playmaker. The Reds have previously shown interest in signing him, but the player dreams of a move to Real Madrid instead.

He has a contract with the French outfit until the summer of 2026, and he is valued at €25 million. It will be interesting to see if Liverpool are ready to pay up for the 21-year-old. They could have signed him for a fee of around €10 million during the summer transfer window before he signed an extension.

Liverpool could certainly use more quality and depth in the attacking unit, and the 21-year-old would be a quality long-term investment for them. He is capable of slotting into the attacking midfield role as well as the role of a winger.

Rayan Cherki could be a useful option

Cherki will add goals and creativity to the Liverpool attack. The opportunity to play in the Premier League could be exciting for him, and he will look to test himself at the highest level. Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs around the world and they could provide him with the platform to push for major trophies as well.

Having a versatile attacker like him could certainly come in handy for the Premier League giants. They will be hoping to compete on multiple fronts and they need a deeper squad. Having flexible players could prove to be invaluable for them during rotation and injuries.

Furthermore, regular football in the Premier League could accelerate his development and help the Frenchman fulfil his potential.

It will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds over the next few months.
