An article on the ‘Jurgen Klopp kids’ caught my eye earlier today.

This was about the young players the former Liverpool boss had

The article stating ‘All supporters want to see youngsters graduate from their club’s academy and become regulars in the first team…’

The reason it showed up to me on social media I think, was because the main focus of it was Bobby Clark.

‘Bobby Clark was the first of the group nicknamed “Klopp’s Kids” to leave Liverpool on a permanent deal.

Other youngsters — Fabio Carvalho, Sepp van den Berg — have also departed.

So how should Liverpool fans react to the club selling their young talent?

The 19-year-old midfielder has linked up with former Liverpool coaching duo Pepijn Lijnders and Vitor Matos at serial Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg, and it has raised questions about the Anfield club’s intentions with their young players moving forward in a new era under Klopp’s successor Arne Slot.

You have to laugh.

This is Liverpool doing exactly the same as Chelsea.

Raiding other clubs for their best young talent at a very young age, simply to turn/churn them for serious profits.

Bobby Clark was (legally!) stolen away from Newcastle United for a pittance at the age of 16 after NUFC had developed him, Liverpool now selling him for £10m to Red Bull Salzburg.

Sepp Van den Berg at the age of 17 was taken from PEC Zwolle for a reported initial £1.3m, now he has been sold to Brentford for £25m.

At the age of 19, Fabio Carvalho was similarly ‘stolen’ away from Fulham for only an initial £5m. Now he has returned to London and nearby Brentford for £27m.

I am not for one minute claiming Liverpool are doing anything different to what certain other clubs do (including Newcastle United, who are joining this particular party/enterprise very late), but to portray it as the red scousers losig THEIR young talent is all a bit lame.
