Liverpool FC, one of the world’s most iconic football clubs, is set to launch a streamlined sign-in system for its digital platforms, aiming to enhance user experience and security across its popular website and mobile applications. This update marks the culmination of a long-term project that seeks to unify how supporters access key services, from ticketing to exclusive media content.
In recent years, Liverpool’s online footprint has grown significantly, now boasting one of the most-visited club websites worldwide. In fact, Liverpoolfc.com consistently ranks as the most-visited website among Premier League clubs, and the club’s digital influence extends to YouTube, where it was the first Premier League team to reach 10 million subscribers. This reach highlights the unique connection between Liverpool and its supporters, who demand seamless, secure access to the club’s array of online offerings.
With digital engagement surging, the club has recognised the need for a modernised, user-friendly login experience. Liverpool’s new “Single Sign-On” system (SSO) has been designed to address the challenges faced by fans, many of whom currently juggle multiple login credentials across different platforms.
The new SSO project represents a considerable upgrade to Liverpool’s digital infrastructure, particularly for fans engaging in services like LFCTV GO, retail purchases, and ticketing. In the past, these functions each required separate login details, with fans needing a supporter ID for ticketing, while retail and media content demanded unique passwords and email logins. Now, however, Liverpool plans to unify these touchpoints under one login, making it far easier for fans to interact with club services.

“This process began with introducing a single log-in for a number of club services, including retail, LFCTV GO, and MyLFC, and the final stage will include ticketing and membership accounts,” the club stated. By enabling a streamlined sign-in, the SSO system also aims to bolster security, reducing risks associated with managing multiple accounts.
The benefits of this new approach are not solely confined to convenience. Enhanced security has become paramount, especially as cyber threats continue to evolve. With a single login, Liverpool can introduce more stringent security measures, protecting fan data across all services. The simplified system reduces the number of passwords fans need to memorise, and consolidates their personal data management, offering peace of mind alongside ease of access.
Ahead of the project’s final phase, set to go live in the week beginning 18 November 2024, the club will reach out to supporters with multiple accounts linked to one email address. In this communication, Liverpool will outline the steps required for users to consolidate their accounts and prepare for the new login format.
