Liverpool could repeat the trick that got them Luis Diaz. Doing so would land a €90m superstar at Anfield.

Luis Diaz has left Liverpool. The Colombian joins Bayern Munich for around €75m.

It brings an end to a three-and-a-half year spell at Anfield in which Diaz won nearly everything. He played a key role last season as Liverpool won the Premier League, operating both from the left flank and as a makeshift centre-forward.

He's had a brilliant spell with the club, no question, and it all came about by chance. Liverpool weren't sure Diaz was even available in January 2022, only for Tottenham Hotspur to suddenly strike a deal with FC Porto.

That woke the Reds up, who quickly jumped in with the same deal and convinced Diaz to head to Merseyside. He then played a big part in the rest of their campaign as Liverpool came within two matches of winning the quadruple.

An opportunistic deal turned out to be a genius one. And now Liverpool have the chance to do it all over again.

The Rodrygo situation

Liverpool like Rodrygo Goes and have done for years now. Their initial attempt to sign him, back when he was at Santos, ultimately collapsed at the last minute, opening the door for a move to Real Madrid a year later.

But now the Brazilian is in line to leave Madrid after falling out of favour with new boss Xabi Alonso. The door is open for Liverpool, then.

Only, it's not looking likely. AS report that Tottenham Hotspur are essentially the only club still in for Rodrygo.

Liverpool can't afford to pay what Rodrygo and Real Madrid both want and sign Alexander Isak. However, there's a potential twist here.
