In a recent report, journalist Rudy Galetti claimed that Liverpool could move in for Olympique Lyonnais winger Malick Fofana. It has been stated that the Reds have identified the Belgian talent as a target for this summer transfer window.

Fofana’s Impressive Numbers In French Football

Fofana caught the eye at times with his performances on the left side of Lyon’s attack in the previous campaign. The 20-year-old netted 11 goals and secured six assists in 41 matches for the French club last season in multiple competitions.

The Belgian talent deserves some credit for averaging 1.76 shots per 90 minutes in Ligue 1. He kept 48.4% of his attempts on target. Fofana even distributed the ball relatively well after making 77.4% of his attempted passes in the French top flight (stats via fbref.com).

Fofana is under contract at the French club until the summer of 2028 which could make it tough for Liverpool to snap him up on the cheap this off-season.

Should Liverpool Boss Arne Slot Get Fofana On Board This Summer?

Fofana has got the pace to cause a lot of headaches for his marker out in the wide areas. He has got the vision to engineer some inviting chances for his teammates to find the back of the net.
