Lille OSC head into their UEFA Champions League encounter against Atletico Madrid severely depleted. Mitchell Bakker, substituted early in the game against AS Monaco on Friday, is the latest casualty for LOSC.

Bakker suffered an abdominal muscle injury against Les Monégasques, ruling him out for several weeks. His name has now been added to a lengthy list that also includes the likes of Ismaily, Tiago Santos, Samuel Umtiti, Nabil Bentaleb, Ayyoub Bouaddi, Hákon Arnar Haraldsson, and Ethan Mbappé.

It leaves Bruno Genesio in a position where he has to patch together a team to face Atletico Madrid. Ngal’ayel Mukau is set to start in midfield for Lille, with André Gomes also absent due to ineligibility. Rémy Cabella, who made an impact off the bench in the draw against Monaco, looks set to get the nod ahead of Osame Sahraoui on the left wing.
