Lille striker Jonathan David is reportedly eager to make the move to Barcelona instead of either Inter Milan or Juventus.

The 24-year-old has now established himself as one of the most sought-after forwards in Europe.

The Canadian has been at Lille since 2020. Over the last two campaigns, he has cemented himself as one of the deadliest bombers in Ligue 1.

However, this could prove to be his final campaign in France, as his contract will expire in June.

But while Inter and Juventus are hoping to lure the Brooklyn native to Serie A, the player could be more enticed by another destination.

According to El Nacional via FcInterNews, David prefers to join Barcelona rather than the Nerazzurri or the Bianconeri.

The Catalan giants are reportedly monitoring the Canada international. They consider him the long-term heir of Robert Lewandowski.

The Polish hitman has already celebrated his 36th birthday. So while he remains the ultimate choice upfront for the Blaugrana, the management believes next summer would be the right time to bring in a younger alternative.

Barca’s interest could prove to be a major blow to Inter’s hopes of signing the Ligue 1 star.

Inter Milan Transfer Target Jonathan David Eager To Join Barcelona

As reported earlier today, the Nerazzurri are to replace Marko Arnautovic with the Canadian.

The Austrian is also running on an expiring contract. Therefore, he’ll likely leave Appiano Gentile at the end of the season.

The 35-year-old is the fourth choice in Simone Inzaghi’s attacking pecking, so the club would like to bring in a younger profile who can offer more competition to the likes of Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram.

Nevertheless, convincing David to join might turn out to be a daunting task for the Nerazzurri.

The Lille striker has already contributed with three goals and two assists in seven competitive matches across all competitions this season.
