At the end of last year, Barcelona were among the clubs linked with a move for Eliesse Ben Seghir, the AS Monaco star making waves in Ligue 1.

A left winger by trade, Ben Seghir has been one of the rising stars in Ligue 1 this season, racking up nine goals and four assists in all competitions.

At just 20, the Moroccan has featured in 80 competitive matches for AS Monaco. And as we slowly approach the summer transfer window, he could become one of the hot topics in the transfer market.

Ben Seghir dreams of playing for Barcelona

According to SPORT, Ben Seghir is dreaming of a move to Barcelona, detailing how he has always enjoyed watching the Catalan club.

In a 2023 interview, he openly expressed his love for the club and the way they play. “I grew up watching Barça. Their style of play has always fascinated me,” he said.

As mentioned earlier, Barcelona were interested in Ben Seghir at the end of the year, when they sent scouts to keep an eye on the youngster against Benfica, where he scored in the 12th minute.

Ben Seghir, apart from his love for Barcelona, also considers Neymar as one of his idols. He is, therefore, a close follower of the Catalan outfit.

Before the start of the season, Ben Seghir had already impressed Barcelona fans by scoring in the Joan Gamper Trophy, where AS Monaco secured a 3-0 victory.

Since then, the winger has grown in confidence and could end up becoming a real option for Barcelona as they look to shore up their attacking options in the coming summer.

Ben Seghir currently has a market value of €30 million and with a contract until 2027, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the Moroccan international.
