Aston Villa failed to breach the Nottingham Forest challenge as they were held down 2-1 in the Premier League. Hence, the former side will be desperate to get back to the winning ways when they lock horns with Manchester City this weekend.
The Villans are seventh on the points table and they need to buckle up if they want to secure a European berth for next season. As the Citizens have hit their lowest point, the hosts can exploit their low confidence and deliver another tough night for Pep Guardiala’s men.
Defence
Emi Martinez couldn’t have done much to prevent Nottingham Forest from finding the back of the net. He will be desperate to put on a good performance. Right-back Ezri Konsa retains his spot in the starting lineup.
Diego Carlos and Pau Torres remain intact as the centre-back duo. They will have an instrumental role to play to bring joy home. No change at the left full-back position as Lucas Digne keeps his place.

Midfield
Boubacar Kamara and Youri Tielemans are once again paired up as the holding midfielders. They will have to cover a lot of ground, control the tempo, and provide support in the final third.
Attack
Matty Cash will be operating on the right wing with Morgan Rogers playing as the attacking midfielder. John McGinn was impressive on the left flank in the previous game and a lot will be expected from him this time too.
Ollie Watkins suffered a minor injury but Jhon Duran should be ready to be deployed as the striker.
Leon Bailey could be back from the hamstring problem while Tyrone Mings is available after having missed the previous game due to illness. However, Jacob Ramsey is still sidelined due to the injury.
