There was premature excitement last week with suggestions that Leny Yoro could’ve marked his return against Ipswich Town, but that did not happen as he didn’t feature in Ruben Amorim’s first matchday squad.

It has been revealed by club insider Academy Scoop that the decision to keep Yoro out was made as his planned reintegration to the squad.

Finley King, who runs the Academy Scoop account on X, reacted to Yoro’s absence from the squad after yesterday’s 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town.

He adds that there have been no setbacks in Yoro’s recovery and everything is on track, which means we’ll see him in action for the first team very soon.

While it feels like he’s been at the club for longer, we haven’t seen him in action bar some glimpses during pre-season.

His first competitive season is on the cards and he’ll be stepping into a Ruben Amorim-inspired back-three, which will be reliant on his pace for recoveries.

Yoro joined United in the summer in a £59m deal from Lille, with the Reds beating Real Madrid to his signature. It is also believed that PSG and Liverpool were interested in signing the youngster, who recently turned 19.

Many believe Yoro could become a generational talent. In that case, United have found themselves a coup and Amorim will be excited to work with him.

The new head coach is going to be mindful of rushing back his gem in defence. Many have suggested that he won’t fully return until December 4 when the Reds take on Arsenal in the Premier League.

United will hope to have other defenders back fit by then, including Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez.

It has already been reported that Amorim is excited to work with Yoro at United, with people within the club echoing that he is a generational talent on the cusp of great things at Old Trafford.
