Leicester City and Southampton meet in the Premier League on Saturday, 3rd May, at 3pm (UK time).
Leicester have won their last three meetings with Southampton, scoring 12 goals in the process.
Jamie Vardy has scored in all three of those victories, netting nine career goals against the Saints so far.
To say it’s been a disappointing season for these two sides would be wildly understating it. Leicester and Southampton have already had their relegations back to the Championship confirmed, picking up just six wins and 29 points combined. For context, that would be enough to see them 18th and still seven points from safety with just five games to go, while their 51 goals scored combined is bettered by 10 Premier League teams.
Leicester confirmed their relegation with a 1-0 defeat at home to Liverpool last time out, meaning they’ve taken just one point from their last 10 Premier League matches, with a 2-2 draw against Brighton the only game they’ve scored in during that time. Saints, meanwhile, took a rare 1-1 draw against West Ham at the weekend but are nine without a win, picking up just two points during that time. Southampton still need to pick up another point to avoid becoming the worst team in Premier League history.
Odsonne Edouard should be back in action for this match, but Abdul Fatawu remains sidelined for Leicester.
Albert Gronbaek has a slim chance of returning in time for this match, while Ryan Fraser and Charlie Taylor should both be back in action in advance.
As mentioned, Leicester have won their last three matches against Southampton, including 3-2 away back in October. That accounts for 25% of the Foxes’ Premier League wins this season, as well as 16.66% of their points.
