Leicester City look to have come alive in the final knockings of the transfer window, with the club keen to get a couple of deals done before the deadline.

According to the Telegraph, the Foxes have submitted a formal offer worth £15 million to sign Stoke City defender Harry Souttar.

Brendan Rodgers is keen to make the 24-year-old his third addition this month as he gears up for a crunch second half of the season.

Leicester’s interest in the defender seemed to have waned after negotiations between both clubs stalled over the player’s valuation.

However, the Foxes are keen to get a deal for the Australia international over the line ahead of tomorrow’s deadline.

Souttar was impressive while representing his country at last year’s World Cup in Qatar, which could have a hand in Leicester’s change of heart as the Foxes now believe he has what it takes in the Premier League.

If Leicester complete the transfer, Souttar would be the third addition at the King Power Stadium after Victor Kristiansen and Tete, with the duo joining from Copenhagen and Shakhtar Donetsk respectively.

Leicester could be in for a busy end to the January transfer window. The Foxes are still keeping an eye on a couple of other targets to improve their squad.

Rodgers is keen on adding a new forward to bolster their attacking ranks and has pinpointed Leeds United’s Jack Harrison as a top target.

The Foxes have tabled a £20m offer for the 26-year-old, who has been a key player for the Lilywhites since joining from Manchester City in 2018.

Harrison has just 18 months left to run on his current contract with Leeds, but the west Yorkshire club have yet to respond to Leicester’s offer.
