Leicester City and Sheffield Wednesday supporters stood in unity against Dejphon Chansiri at their fixture on Sunday.
Leicester City supporters stood in solidarity with the travelling Sheffiled Wednesday faithful on Sunday at their season opener, sending a clear message to Dejphon Chansiri.
Despite constant issues off the pitch throughout the summer with late wage payments and a transfer embargo being enforced, a sold-out away end roared on the 11 Owls stars who took to the field in Leicester on Sunday afternoon.
Whilst the result was largely irrelevant in the grand scheme of things, the Yorkshire side gave an excellent account of themselves and their fighting spirit, going down 2-1 to a side who are expected to be fighting at the top end of the Championship.
However, the most eye-catching part of the contest was the Leicester supporters standing side by side with the travelling Wednesdayites, as they staged protests against their owner, whose irresponsible actions have caused a lot of hurt to a lot of people.
The Foxes faithful showed their class with a number of actions that sent a clear message to the Wednesday owner, about how the rest of the EFL feels about his antics.
There were plenty of protests from the Sheffield Wednesday fans who made the trip to the King Power Stadium on Sunday, including a fly-over from a plane, fans arriving late to their seats, and banners and posters displaying messages for Chansiri.
However, it wasn't just the away supporters who protested against the club's owner, as Leicester supporters stood in solidarity with the opposition fans, showing the unity of all EFL fans in tough times once again.
The Foxes faithful applauded the Wednesdayites as they made their way to their seats just before kick-off, with a section of the home supporters holding up a banner which read "Chansiri = Poison" and another below which read "Keep fighting SWFC."
It was wonderful to once again see another club in support of a club which has fallen on hard times, as all supporters are keen to ensure another club's existence isn't under threat from poor ownership once again.
The wonderful actions of the Leicester fans were widely appreciated by the Wednesday faithful, as the SWFC Supporters Trust shared a message after the game, thanking them for their support.
Many Owls supporters also echoed the same sentiment on X, thanking the home fans for the way they supported the protests on Sunday afternoon, in a great showing of unity.
Legendary Leicester striker Jamie Vardy is a boyhood Sheffield Wednesday fan, and some supporters echoed that the 37-year-old would be hugely proud of how both of his beloved clubs stood together.
Many of the comments in response to the post encouraged the Wednesday fans to not give up, as Leicester fans can relate to how they feel, having endured tough times themselves before the light at the end of the tunnel.
