It has been reported that Leicester City are viewing Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi as a potential replacement for Abdul Fatawu.
As the transfer window comes to a close, Leicester City could be one of the busiest clubs in the EFL on deadline day, and it has now been reported that the Foxes are interested in signing Crystal Palace attacker Jesurun Rak-Sakyi.
After a tumultuous summer that has seen suggestions of a points deduction and then the delayed departure of Ruud van Nistelrooy, and subsequent appointment of Marti Cifuentes, Leicester have still started the season reasonably well.
The Foxes were forced to come from behind on the opening day against crisis club Sheffield Wednesday, and supporters expressed their discontent in that game, before they then suffered a 2-1 loss at Deepdale against Preston North End.
However, since those underwhelming performances, Leicester have since defeated both Charlton Athletic at The Valley and then Birmingham City at the King Power Stadium with impressive defensive performances.
A bit of work to the squad still needs to be done and a lot still appears up in the air, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Leicester extremely active before the close of the market on Monday evening.
According to Alan Nixon, via his Patreon, Leicester City are interested in signing Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi before the close of the transfer window.
Nixon has reported that Rak-Sakyi is viewed by Leicester as an ideal fit for their squad, but also as a possible replacement for Abdul Fatawu.
Fatawu has enjoyed an excellent start to the season after recovering from a serious knee injury that blighted his time in the Premier League last season, scoring in back-to-back games against Charlton Athletic and Birmingham City, and there could be some very late bids for the Ghanaian's services.
The report goes on to say that Leicester are seeking to conclude a loan deal for Rak-Sakyi, but they could also look to buy the winger on full-time deal if the Eagles renew their interest Bilal El Khannouss, who a deal for collapsed last week, or if the Moroccan is sold elsewhere.
As Nixon states, Leicester could get Rak-Sakyi in on a permanent deal should El Khannouss depart, with the Morocco international having opted to sit out of Leicester’s 2-0 defeat of Birmingham as he tries to force through a move away from the King Power Stadium
Palace have recently brought in Yeremy Pino from Villarreal, with the Eagles interested in signing Reiss Nelson, too, following the departure of Eberechi Eze to Arsenal - they may end up already being covered in the attacking midfield area now.
Leicester appear set for their own extremely busy end to the window with Rak-Sakyi not the only player linked with a move to the King Power Stadium.
It has also been reported that the Foxes are interested in a move for Stade Rennais midfielder Jordan James, as well as Feyenoord attacker Julian Carranza.
Nixon has also reported that Leicester are among the clubs chasing Hull City goalkeeper Ivor Pandur, as they try to find a replacement for Mads Hermansen, who was sold to West Ham United earlier this summer.
Leicester have also had a bid rejected for Portsmouth winger Josh Murphy, with the Foxes seemingly seeking to strengthen numerous areas of their squad before the deadline - it will be much-needed with a long season ahead of them.
