Leicester and Southampton clash in battle of who wants it least

This afternoon, Southampton make the underwhelming trip to King Power Stadium. It is a tale of which team decides to be less mediocre on the day, if any team does at all.

Both the Foxes and the Saints have rubber-stamped their place in the Championship next season, so the two sides have become quite familiar with each other over the last few seasons. Both went down two seasons ago, and then came up again last season.

Usually, games at this stage of the season would be intense. However, in what has been frankly an underwhelming season for every fan except Liverpool, the Premier League fate is already decided. The Reds have won while Ipswich, Leicester and Southampton have all been relegated.

All that's left for Southampton to strive for is to achieve that one anticipated point. If they fail to pick up another point before the end of this season, they will match Derby County as the two worst teams in Premier League history. That's not the page of the history book the Saints want to be etched into.

Leicester and Southampton can relate this season

Thankfully for us, Leicester is in a similar situation. The Foxes actually have nothing to strive for, since their destiny is decided. With Ruud van Nistelrooy at the helm, fans cannot cluster up any reality where they win another game this season.

We're not really selling this game to you, but of course, fans will travel to the Midlands or tune into watch the game. Even if Southampton has given fans every reason to revolt this season, it is not in our nature to do so. The same can be said for Leicester.

No rivalry for this match, more a mutual understanding of each club's situation. Both sets of fans have been let down by the higher-ups and the players this season, so let's see which team wants it least today.
