One of the most iconic Italian managers, Fabio Capello, has hailed the Inter Milan squad depth in one of his latest interviews.

During a comprehensive chat with Gazzetta dello Sport, as reported by FCInter1908, Capello pointed out the significance of a ‘deep bench’ and urged Simone Inzaghi to use squad rotations ‘intelligently.’

Inzaghi has become synonymous with continuous squad turnovers.

Like Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola and ex-Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, the 48-year-old has mastered his craft.

Always attentive to his players’ match fitness, Inzaghi has developed a reputation for making timely rotations to keep his squad fresh throughout a demanding season.

His approach ensures his standout sars avoid burnout while allowing fringe players to step up when needed.

Therefore, he constantly maintains a high level of performance across competitions.

Inzaghi’s strategic use of depth has been crucial in Inter’s recent success. It has earned him praise for his tactical acumen and man-management skills.

Capello believes Inter’s current roster has the most potential in Serie A.

He also emphasized that intelligent squad management could be the key to sustained success for Inter this season.

“Certainly, Inzaghi will need to be smart in using squad rotations.

“However, more importantly, the Nerazzurri have been a bit complacent at the start of this season.

“If they don’t regain the mentality they had in last year’s campaign, they risk dropping points with the more congested schedule.”

Capello’s statement isn’t far from the truth.

Inter slumped to several underwhelming results in the opening seven rounds.

Draws against perennial strugglers Genoa and Monza have left Inzaghi with a bitter taste in his mouth.

Therefore, Inter would be wise to listen to Capello’s advice, especially with a massive clash against Roma on the horizon.

Inzaghi’s side will take on their old foes at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday.
