Lecce dropped a hint that they are ready to sell Patrick Dorgu to Manchester United by making an offer for Hearts full-back Daniel Oyegoke.
The club met with Manchester United representatives who visited Italy over the last few days to discuss terms, but had a significant gap between the €27m proposal and Lecce’s €40m asking price.
However, the Premier League side is expected to raise its original bid and could get a deal done for Dorgu over the January transfer window.
With that in mind, Lecce are looking for a replacement and Sky Sport Italia transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio claims they have already found him.

Hearts manager Neil Critchley told reporters today that Oyegoke was not in the squad because he has received interest from several Italian clubs.
Lecce would seem to be the favourites and believe the Arsenal youth academy product can fill Dorgu’s shoes at the Stadio Via del Mare.
Oyegoke turned 22 earlier this month and can play in central defence, on the right or the left.
He came up through the Arsenal academy and had spells at MK Dons and Brentford before a free transfer to Hearts of Midlothian in July 2024.
