Lazio are still determined to sign Napoli midfielder Michael Folorunsho before the end of the summer. Nevertheless, they’re willing to bide their time in the hopes of driving the price down.

The Biancocelesti’s new coach Marco Baroni is eager to reunite with his former Reggina and Hellas Verona pupil in the Italian capital, and the player himself is hoping to seal his return to the club which he had left as a youngster back in 2017, especially after becoming an outcast at Antonio Conte’s court.

According to Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), the Aquile have agreed personal terms with Folorunsho several days ago, but they’re patiently awaiting the end of the summer to complete the transfer. As the source explains, Lazio believe they can secure more favourable terms in their talks with Napoli who will be desperate to offload their outcast.

Lazio Seeking Discount on Folorunsho

As the source explains, Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis currently values the Italy international at €12 million, whereas Lazio are hoping to get a discount in the final days of the summer. The Biancocelesti are seeking an initial loan deal with either an option or an obligation to buy.

Il Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) is reporting a similar story while adding that Lazio President Claudio Lotito has scheduled a meeting with his Napoli counterpart De Laurentiis to discuss the transfer. The Roman newspaper expects Folorunsho to complete his transfer to the Italian capital in the final days of the summer transfer market.

However, Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà warns that Lazio could have company in the race, as Fiorentina are keeping tabs on the 26-year-old while Bologna have recently inquired about the player. Nevertheless, the source insists that Folorunsho is still holding out for a Lazio move.
