Atalanta-owned attacker Nicolò Cambiaghi, currently on loan at Empoli, has reportedly emerged as a dream signing for Lazio ahead of the Summer Transfer Market.

Like so many other talented youngsters, the 23-year-old rose through the ranks of the Bergamo-based club. He is a versatile young attacker who mainly operates on the left wing. However, he couldn’t carve himself space at Gian Piero Gasperini’s court, so has been on loan at Empoli for the second season in a row.

The Italian was one of the best Serie A revelations last season, but he’s been less prolific this term. He has only scored a single goal and contributed with four assists in 32 Serie A appearances. Nevertheless, the Biancocelesti are still reportedly keen on securing his services.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Lazio Sporting Director Angelo Mariano Fabiani considers Cambiaghi his primary target to bolster Igor Tudor’s attacking ranks; the capital side had already inquired about his services in January.

As the source tells it, Atalanta President Antonio Percassi has set the player’s price at €20 million. Lazio have already made contact with La Dea, and are reportedly ready to submit an offer worth €15 million.

Cambiaghi’s loan spell with Empoli will expire at the end of the season, while his contract with Atalanta is valid until June 2028.
