Lazio announced that Nuno Tavares has been diagnosed with a left thigh injury and it remains to be seen how long he will be out for.
The left-back pulled up during the 3-1 Europa League victory over Real Sociedad on Thursday evening, which guaranteed their direct access to the Round of 16.
Coach Marco Baroni had said in the post-match interviews that he was hopeful Nuno Tavares had stopped in time to avoid any serious damage.

Lazio released a statement this afternoon confirming that tests showed a ‘distractive trauma’ to the long adductor in the left thigh.
The player has already started treatment and will be monitored on a daily basis before medical staff will attempt to quantify the recovery time.
He is expected to be out of action for at least a couple of weeks, depending on the extent of the damage.
Nuno Tavares turns 25 tomorrow and is on loan from Arsenal with an obligation to buy for €5m.
The Portugal international has been a revelation this season with nine assists in 19 games between Serie A and the Europa League.
