Lautaro Martínez is having the season of his life right now, and somewhat under the radar.
The Inter ace has been one of, if not the best, player for Simone Inzaghi’s side and once again proved his worth during Wednesday’s Coppa Italia final.
Lautaro netted a first-half brace against Fiorentina after his side fell a goal behind after less than three minutes.
It’s now 101 goals for the club and 27 for the season, etching his best-ever scoring tally during a single campaign. That’s in addition to 10 assists.
The 25-year-old has been key for every tournament he’s featured in this season – perhaps making him a key candidate for the Ballon d’Or.
Supercoppa Italiana holders Inter could lift their second title tonight and may pull off a third if they win the Champions League final against Manchester City.
That’s to go alongside Lautaro’s World Cup win with Argentina and being ranked as Serie A’s second-highest scorer (20 goals) with two games to go.
