The final club to qualify for the highly anticipated FIFA Club World Cup 2025™ will be decided on Saturday, May 31, when Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) and Mexican giants Club América face off in a high-stakes play-in match at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, California. Kickoff is set for 7:30 PM local time.
Tickets for this winner-takes-all clash will go on sale to the general public on Saturday, May 17 at FIFA.com/tickets. Members of LAFC and Club América will have early access through an exclusive presale starting Friday, May 16 at 10:00 AM PT. The play-in match will be streamed live and free globally on DAZN.com, with additional sublicensing agreements to be announced soon.
Following recent decisions from the Court of Arbitration for Sport, FIFA determined that the final club to join the tournament will be selected through a play-in match between LAFC (runners-up to Club León in the 2023 Concacaf Champions League) and Club América (the top-ranked Concacaf club in the FIFA Club World Cup Confederation Ranking as of the end of the 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup, the final year of the qualification period).
If the match ends in a tie after 90 minutes, two 15-minute halves of extra time will be played, with a 5-minute break between them. If the score is still level, a penalty shootout will determine the winner.
The victor of the play-in will secure the final spot at this year’s prestigious global club tournament and will compete in Group D alongside Brazil’s CR Flamengo, Tunisia’s Espérance Sportive de Tunis, and England’s Chelsea FC.
