Kimmich Stays at Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich midfielder, Joshua Kimmich will extend his contract “in the next few days”, according to the AFP.
Kimmich’s current contract expires in a few months and has drawn interest from clubs in the Premier League.
Arsenal were keen admirers and had reportedly made contact with Kimmich.
However, Kimmich will be staying put and signing a contract until 2029.
Kimmich celebrated the new contract by helping his side beat Bayer Leverkusen to reach the Champions League quarter-finals yesterday.
The 30-year-old’s has already spent 10 years with Bayern, winning eight Bundesliga titles, three DFB Pokals, the Champions League, and a Super Cup.
Evidently, the German international is still hungry for more success at Bayern.
Bayern’s sporting director Max Eberl had said the “ball was in Kimmich’s court” over whether or not he would sign an extension.
“(A new deal) will definitely be coming in the next few days,” the Germany captain told reporters.
“It’s been difficult in the past few days because we’ve had so many games.”
Teammates, Manuel Neuer, Jamal Musiala and Alphonso Davies all signed contract extensions in February.
Kimmich signed from RB Leipzig in 2015 and has since made 429 appearances in all competitions, but he has needed to be patient.
With his future resolved, Kimmich can now look forward to the weekend, where Bayern look set the extend their eight point Bundesliga lead with a trip to Union Berlin.
